What We Liked:
I have to admit that I’m a bit fussy when it comes to alphabet apps. With so many rather mediocre (or even poorly executed) ABC apps in the store, a homeschooling mom can afford to be selective. I’m sure there are many devices out there (mine have been included in this number) loaded with alphabet apps that do a few things, but don’t contain everything a parent might need for their children.
Well, I’m happy to say that after much searching I’m confident in saying that Interactive Alphabet gets all the bases covered with style. Not only do you get the classic phonological awareness of the letter name and the word that starts with the letter (that all alphabet books include) BUT you also get the explicit phonics connection with the statement of the letters sound. Your choice of letter case, alphabet song, letter names, phonics, and fun interactivity – this app has it all covered.
Pi’ikea’s apps are always high quality with crisp clear graphics and activities on each letter page that truly appeal to children (mine give it Hundreds of stars!", you just can’t go wrong with this one. Feel free to delete at least 90% of your other alphabet book apps after you install Interactive Alphabet – this one’s a winner.
What We Didn’t Like:
Nothing.
Overall:
Interactive Alphabet ABCs is a classic alphabet app, containing everything a parent could want in a digital ABC book while having clear, simple navigation that even toddlers can work with. Letter names, letter sounds, the alphabet song – its all here and its all done well. There’s a reason Interactive Alphabet has remained a top seller in the App Store for years.
